Day 25 - Facing God

God cannot bear the sight of our backs. He has called us all to turn and face him, and to adore what we see; to turn away again is to refute our calling.

But wait! we cry. We are placed in this world and we have to do business with it. We have to pray and then set God down to wait for us until we complete our daily work, hopefully in a Godly fashion, and then we can come back again to him.

It is only the work of the apostolic, not church work or business or home work, or even much that passes for Christian mission, but the apostolic labouring for the kingdom which is the purest of callings.

Why so? Because it is the one single work that we can only do when we remain with our full attention on the Christ at its heart. It is only when we are engaged in the apostolic that he has our full attention.
