Day 30 - Our Calling

Some of us are positioned in high places, some of us in the slums of India and some of us in the leafy suburban glades of comfortable western Europe. Some of us move on, rising or falling, and some seem to stay where we are, high or low, wherever God has placed us.

We make a mistake if we believe that we are necessarily called to work for Christ and his church according to our station in life, to choose and carry out vocations suited to our position. It is not so. We are called primarily to worship God, to press into his presence.

When we do that, our rightful service consists only of what happens naturally around us when we fall back from that presence to our place on earth.
