Day 25 - The Evil Magnetism

Be aware of the outworking of self-sin, the magnet inside us that draws everything towards us and inside us. This fault has its dwelling too deep down inside us and is too much an intrinsic part of our natures to come to the surface until the light of God is focused on it.

The worst manifestations of these sins - egotism, exhibitionism, self-promotion - are strangely tolerated in our Christian leaders.

Many people actually allow such characteristics to become identified with the gospel and its proper preaching. They can easily appear to be a pre-requisite for popularity in some circles. Promoting self under the guise of promoting Christ is common enough to excite little notice. Keep well clear of the siren voice of popularity!
