Structure
The Order of Jacob's Well was inaugurated as a
part of the Church of God by the
Most Revd Rowan Williams, Archbishop of Wales, on April 24th 1998.
His oversight on behalf of the Universal Christian Church is given to the
Superior of the Leadership Board.
This Board is cross denominational,
consisting of nine members, five clergy and four lay, all of them being of
tried and tested standing in the Church's Ministry of Healing and Wholeness.
The Order's headquarters is situated at the
Well Centre in South-East Wales and is a national Charity.
The Order is made up of three branches.
- Licensed Ministers
- Alongsiders
- Intercessors
The role of the Intercessory Branch is to
uphold the members of the other two Branches in prayer, together with all
activities, conferences and outreach.
Alongsiders are annually subscribing friends
of the Order who do not wish for Oversight, do not hold Licences and yet are
kept fully informed of all activities of the Order.
Licensed Ministers undergo a Selection
Process to test their calling which consists of an Interview with two
members of the Leadership Board, a correspondence Course and a
time of prayer ministry. After interview applicants are assigned to
Overseers to take them through the Course and to care for them thereafter.
The Licence granted by the Leadership Board
is not a qualification. It is an acknowledgement of gifting and a statement
that the minister concerned is operating in the Ministry of Healing and
Wholeness under the oversight of the Christian Church.
All Licensed ministers are expected to
operate according to Ministry Guidelines and Licences may be revoked if
necessary.
All members of the ministers branch are
accountable to Overseers who themselves are Licensed Ministers within that
Branch of the Order.
The Overseers themselves are accountable to
the Leadership Board.

Purpose & Aims
The Order exists to serve those of any persuasion or need by offering
peace and reconciliation through prayer and ministry in Jesus' Name.
The overall aim of the Order is
to fulfil Our Lord's injunction that "They may have life and
may have it in abundance" and to increase the mutual bonds of
love between human beings and God, within their families, their
church and towards others in their community.
to extend the hand of Healing and Wholeness through reconciliation
in Jesus Christ into a needful church and world.
to advance the reality of Matthew 5, 3 to 16 in the lives of
themselves and others.
to encourage understanding of, and commitment to, the Ministry of
Wholeness in the local church and community.
to set standards for ministerial behaviour and approach.
to define and maintain a proper framework within which ministry
may be both rewarding and safe for those who need it and for the
church as a body.
to train ministers to the fullest extent in ministry through
Reconciliation.
to provide accountability, support, fellowship, prayer back-up,
recognition and encouragement for its ministers.

The Vision
The Ministry of Healing and Wholeness is
given to the Christian Church, firstly to enable her individual and
personal relationship with God to deepen and secondly to help to prepare
the bride for the return of Christ.
As a consequence of such a deepening our
spirits, followed by our emotions and relationships and often followed
by our bodies, become more at one with God, more at peace and more
whole. This is a ministry of Reconciliation through our Lord Jesus
Christ.

The Need
Across the country are many who are in
need of receiving what this ministry has to offer but find it out of
reach, geographically or financially.
There are also many who feel called to
work within this ministry and yet have little access to training and
encouragement.
Restricted access to the insights of
other ministers
A recognition of the need to minister
under the Authority and oversight of the Church.
The Order of Jacob's Well is a religious order,
operating under the oversight of the Christian Church.
Its vision is to find, encourage and
maintain a communicating network of trained ministers, authorised and
Licensed, across the country and to offer on-going training, insights
and prayer support for its Ministers.
