In Anticipation of answered prayer
Heavenly Father we thank you for your grace and for your Son Jesus who has taken up our griefs, carried our sorrows and by his wounds we are healed. Amen
During the Laying on of hands
By virtue of my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and with the authority invested by him in all his true disciples, I speak to all that ails you in body mind or spirit and command what is wrong to come out of the darkness and into the kingdom of God's light.
Lord have mercy.
Amen
For a physical illness
Healing Father in Heaven, send your most Holy Spirit to those for whom we pray.
We bless you for all the natural healing mechanisms that you designed into our bodies at our creation. May your Holy Spirit dwell in them richly, heal them and speed up their natural and wonderful processes that they may be restored into full health.
Through Jesus Christ our Healing Saviour. Amen.
For difficult relationships
We thank you, Heavenly Father, for the joyous obedience and self-emptying love which flows so intimately between Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We ask that you bring those who suffer in difficult relationships into green pastures and enable me/us to be ministers of that healing grace.
In the name of Jesus. Amen
For long-term illness
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. Jesus came that we may have life, and have it to the full.
I come against this illness with all my being, with my heart, all my mind and all my strength.
I command the evil within to let go and to retreat, leaving only an abundant life in the Lord Jesus. In his holy name. Amen
For me
Lord, I thank You for this day. Thank You for my being able to see and to hear today.
I am blessed because You are a forgiving and an understanding God. You have done so much for me and You keep on blessing me.
Forgive me this day for everything I have done, said or thought that was not pleasing to you. Let me continue to see sin through God's eyes and acknowledge it as evil. And when I sin, let me repent, and confess with my mouth my wrongdoing, so that I may receive the forgiveness of God.
Let me make the best of each and every day to clear my mind so that I can hear from You.
Continue to bless me that I may be a blessing to others. Keep me strong that I may help the weak. Keep me uplifted that I may have words of encouragement for others.
I ask this in Jesus' name. Amen
For my child
Spirit of the living God, flow into your beloved child.
Heal in him/her everything that harms them, strengthen everything that is weak and lift his/her heart to reflect your glory.
Amen
For those in abuse
Lord of Life,
Thank you that your Son, Jesus Christ, has bought our healing by his suffering and death on the cross, enduring abuse, humiliation and torture. Let us never forget the price He has paid for our salvation and healing. Let us never underestimate what He has done.
Lord, we hold up before you ..... who is sick, and pray that you will hear this prayer and release the grace of healing into this life, into this mind, into this body.
Lord, we ask you to vindicate your word and honour your promises. Release your mighty power into this situation, O God, that all who see might know it is the work of the Living God.
Lord, we believe. Help our unbelief. And may this person, healed and made whole in body mind and spirit, testify to your glory.
We ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen
For my husband
Jesus, tender lover of women and children, of his friends and the friendless, I come to you for a special gift of love for my husband and family. Lord, help me to respect him, not because he's perfect (you and I know he isn't), but because he is made in your image and you have commanded wives to respect their husbands, as you have also commanded husbands to love their wives.
Lord, I offer to you and to him my beauty -- the beauty of a quiet, serene spirit and the beauty of my mind and my emotions and my body. Help me to be interested in the things he's interested in and be willing to share those interests with him.
Help me Lord to be willing to be an excellent sexual partner for him. Help us to talk freely about how we "tick" so that our sexual life will be satisfying and enjoyable.
May our home be a haven of peace in a turbulent world, a place of quiet rest when life is too noisy and stressful. Help me to have the grace and strength to be a secure mother of our children; help us both to plan fun times together as a family.
Help me to be interested in my husband's work and achievements; to be an interesting conversation-mate; and above all, help me to pray for him, for us, and for our family regularly.
I offer my life to you Lord. May I bring joy to you as I live in obedience to your perfect will. Amen.

For my wife
Lord Jesus, gentle and strong, who related with tender-ness to woman, to children, and to the marginalised, please give me a big dose of gentle strength for my wife.
Help me to love her as you loved the church, a love that was willing to endure the ultimate sacrifice of death.
Help me to meet my wife's needs for genuine affection, for honest communication, for little surprises and common courtesies. Help me to listen to her feelings, not merely her words; to understand the differences between us that enrich our life together; to be willing to accept her as she is without wanting to change her.
Help me as I look into her eyes to give her the gift of openness, of trust, and security. Help me to work hard to support her and the family financially. If my earnings are inadequate, give me the gift of creativity to work out ways of earning more or spending less.
Help me, however, to put my wife and family before myself. May I be faithful in the gift of listening time, the gift of my interested presence, and the gift of my learning and skills to those I love.
Sometimes I feel so inadequate. I confess my sins of neglect, of the idolatry of my vocation, of being second best when at home. Lord forgive me. I commit myself to you, to my wife and family. May I really believe that "success" is unimportant anywhere if it is not a goal of my life at home. I pray in your strong name. Amen.
For Parents
Heavenly Father whose heart is nothing but love and compassion for your children, I lift my parents into the light of that love.
In doing so I honour them before you and uphold them in my own esteem.
Flood their lives with your restoring grace by the power of your most Holy Spirit and keep them safe from any evil that might befall them. Through Jesus Christ Our Lord. Amen
For pets and other animals
(with the laying on of hands)
Father, we praise your holy name. We thank you that your mercy knows no bounds. The whole of your creation is groaning for your restoration.
Bring your healing light into this body in Jesus' name. Amen
For the bereaved
O God, in your holy dwelling, you are a father to the fatherless and a defender of widows. You set the lonely in families and lead out the prisoners with singing.
You have sent Jesus to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, proclaiming the year of the Lord's favour and to comfort all who mourn, providing for those who grieve -- to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.
I pray that those known to me who grieve will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendour. Hold their broken hearts in your hand, O Lord, and remold their lives anew.
In Jesus' name. Amen
For the Country
Father of all creation, look mercifully on our country at this time and on those who are charged with governing our problems and the misfortunes that befall us.
Cause us your people, who are called by your name, to humble ourselves and pray and seek your face and turn from our wicked ways. Then you will forgive our sin and will heal our land.
Now, O Lord, I pray that your eyes will be open and your ears attentive to these prayers offered in hope of your salvation for our nation.
Through Jesus. Amen
For the local church
Help us, healing Lord, to approach our fellow travelers in Christ and the world outside the church, not with eloquence or superior wisdom as we proclaim to them the testimony about God. Help us to know nothing while we are with them except Jesus Christ and him crucified.
Enrich our message and preaching so that they are not only wise and persuasive words but demonstrations of the Spirit's power, so that their faith might not rest on our wisdom, but on God's power.
Bless and confirm our words to others by the power of signs and miracles, through the power of the Spirit. So from the pew to the streets are conscience may rest in the knowledge that we have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ.
All things are possible with thee. Amen
For those needing God's protection
(Here the word 'me' can be replaced by the name of the person in need)
Circle me O God
Keep hope within
Despair without.
Circle me O God
Keep peace within
Keep turmoil out.
Circle me O God
Keep calm within
Keep storms without.
Circle me O God
Keep strength within
Keep weakness out.
Your Presence is in my life
Your Presence is all around me
Your Presence is Peace.
Your Presence is in my house
Your Presence is all around me
Your Presence is Peace.
Your Presence is in my work
Your Presence is all around me
Your Presence is Peace.
Your Presence is in my heart
Your Presence is running through me
Your Presence is Peace
After the healing
Almighty God, Father of love, you have shown us your power that your name might be proclaimed in all the earth.
The thief came only to steal and kill and destroy; You sent Jesus that we may have life, and have it to the full.
He is indeed the resurrection and the life. He who believes in him will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in him will never die.
We bless your holy name and give you thanks and praise for the resurrection to good health in body, mind and spirit of those we have been praying for in his precious name. Amen
